For Rebekah Bogan, owner of Essential Integrative Health and Wellness, helping people feel and look their best has always been a passion. Her health and wellness center, located in Southern Illinois, focuses on optimizing health and maintaining a youthful appearance through services such as weight loss programs, vitamin injections, and aesthetics. Rebekah’s unique approach combines traditional medical methods with holistic measures, delivering optimal results for her clients. 

A Business Plan for Growth 

Rebekah’s entrepreneurial journey recently reached a new milestone when she participated in the Southern Illinois 2024 Regional Business Plan Competition powered by Regions Bank. Her hard work and vision paid off when she earned $500 in prize money to reinvest into her growing business. 

Rebekah initially sought help from the Illinois Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at SIU after a business mentor encouraged her to connect with them. She was looking for guidance on how to expand her business and hire employees. Through workshops and one-on-one mentoring with Michael Jessup, Rebekah gained valuable insights into improving her business plan and preparing for growth. 

“The experience was very helpful,” she shared. “I learned a lot in the workshops and was given tools I could use to help grow my business. I learned how to put together a better business plan and what things will allow me to grow and hire an employee.” 

Celebrating Success and Planning for the Future 

Essential Integrative Health and Wellness is set to celebrate three years in business this December. Reflecting on the impact of the SBDC’s assistance, Rebekah said, “The impact was huge. I will use the skills I’ve gained to secure funding and add jobs to Southern Illinois by expanding the services my business offers.” 

Looking ahead, Rebekah plans to continue growing her business and creating opportunities within the local community. She envisions adding new positions and furthering her mission of helping men and women achieve optimal health and wellness.
